Mizuno Brand Ambassador Jennie Finch was named the 2009 Female Athlete of the Year by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and USA Softball for her outstanding performance during the 2009 season.

Finch was a key contributor to Team USA 's Japan Cup and Canada Cup championships, pitching and playing first base. She captured Japan Cup MVP honors, after pitching a one-hit shutout against Team Japan, while producing a two-run double in a game the US won 2-0. In the Championship Game of the Canada Cup, Finch hit a game winning single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the US a 3-2 win.
