Mizuno Picks Bergen Batting Center to Consult on Gloves – Bergen Batting Center was recently visited by Mizuno, one of the top makers of baseball-softball gloves in the world. Representatives from Mizuno Japan and Mizuno USA visited and took notes (and pictures) on everything from our GloveBuster machine to how we display our gloves, which was noted by the top glove product specialist as the best display he’s ever seen! We consulted on what will be their 2012 line. Mizuno selects 3 dealers every year to visit and Bergen Batting Center was one of this years selected stores. To our knowledge, our visit was the best most informative and all our guests from Japan and USA corporate had a real eye opening experience on how we treat our glove business.

Mizuno Brand Ambassador Jennie Finch was named the 2009 Female Athlete of the Year by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and USA Softball for her outstanding performance during the 2009 season.

Finch was a key contributor to Team USA 's Japan Cup and Canada Cup championships, pitching and playing first base. She captured Japan Cup MVP honors, after pitching a one-hit shutout against Team Japan, while producing a two-run double in a game the US won 2-0. In the Championship Game of the Canada Cup, Finch hit a game winning single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the US a 3-2 win.

During the 18-game 2009 summer season, Finch batted .447 with three homeruns and 17 hits, proving to be one of the best offensive performers on the team. Additionally, she went 5-0 with a 0.54 ERA and 43 strikeouts, allowing just two earned runs during the 26 innings she pitched.
